JusticeAid Partners with Civic Life Project’s Democracy 2020 Youth Film Challenge!

We are pleased to announce that JusticeAid, a nonprofit, non-partisan organization fighting injustice through the arts, is partnering with the Civic Life Project to support the Democracy 2020 Youth Film Challenge! JusticeAid is generously adding thousands of dollars in cash awards for entries highlighting social justice themes. 

The JusticeAid Prize

Films and social media entries that address social justice themes are eligible to win the following awards in JusticeAid cash prizes. All social media entries must include a “call to action” to vote.

Sample JusticeAid Issues: 

  • Voter Suppression 
  • Mass Incarceration 
  • Poverty
  • Immigration
  • Civic Rights
  • Police Brutality

JusticeAid Prizes: 

  • Documentary Gold Medal: $2,000
  • Documentary Silver Medal: $1,000 
  • Documentary Bronze: $500
  • Documentary Honorable Mentions
  • Social Media Gold Medal: $2,000
  • Social Media Silver Medal: $1,000 
  • Social Media: $500
  • Social Media Honorable Mentions

All films submitted in the above JusticeAid issue categories are also eligible for the Civic Life Project prize awards – film submissions could potentially win up to a total of $7,000!

Selected JusticeAid submissions will be promoted on all JusticeAid social media platforms, as well as those of Civic Life Project. Entries will be judged by a panel from the JusticeAid Board of Directors,  social justice filmmakers and digital producers. 

Winners will be screened as part of the JusticeAid Public Forum in Washington, D.C. in September 2020!
