Young people everywhere are waking up to the idea that they can be part of the democratic process. Now, more than ever, it is important to send a strong message to young people that their voices matter.
We have an unprecedented opportunity to reanimate civic life and demonstrate to students who believe themselves to be disenfranchised, that they can be influential in creating change. It’s more urgent than ever to provide them avenues to address the issues they care about thoughtfully with passion and academic rigor.
Civic Life Project is poised for rapid growth. The program was recently adapted into a low-cost, easily adopted webinar-based “train the trainer” model. This will allow expansion during the 2017-18 school year into hundreds of classrooms, and with proper support by 2018-19, the program could be implemented nationwide.
